Very spacious SPA (JACUZZI) with dressing room and SAUNA with cold-water plunge pool (all in the finest Finish tradition.)

In the peaceful environment of the Ris de Feuafter a bracing stroll through the forest, the health spa is the perfect place to unwind.

Opening hours (for sessions of 1 and a half hours) are : 5.30pm, 7pm and 22pm
The spa is not open in the morning or on days of departure.
The Health Spa is soberly furnished in Douglas Fir from the neighbouring region of Limousin. The doors are double-glazed for your comfort and privacy. We have also respected the local heritage.
Price for use during your stay :
- Private 1-and-a-half-hour session (based on 2 people using the Spa and/or Sauna) 40€ – including dressing gowns.
  (Reserved exclusively for residents of the Ris de Feu, never available for multiple guests at the same time – except if you are staying with friends.)

Recommendations :

The benefits of saunas and spas are numerous: muscle relaxation, elimination of toxins, skin care. But before enjoying the sauna’s heat and the spa’s jet massage, it is a good idea to get to know how it works, how long you should spend in each, and the general recommendations.

Sauna

Your sauna session

In the sauna, a temple to Finnish health, the temperature can reach 100°C. To prepare the body for this heat it is essential to start your session with a spa at 37° or 38°. The first sauna visit generally lasts between 8 and 15 minutes, but beginners should keep it shorter. The effect of the sauna’s dry heat will show after 2 – 3 minutes when the first drops of sweat appear.

After your first sauna session, revive your senses with the cold-water plunge pool which allows you to rinse off. At this point it is a good idea to have a rest period, to allow your body to recover. The procedure can then be repeated: first the sauna for 8 to 15 minutes, then the cold bath then drying off.

Recommendations for the Sauna

The effects of heat of the sauna on the body and the fatigue can be negative if you have certain health problems. If you have heart problems, high blood pressure, asthma, venous or renal (kidney or vein) deficiency, or if you are pregnant, the sauna should be avoided. In addition, do not enter the sauna after a hearty meal or after drinking alcohol.

Spa

Recommendations for the Spa :

Out of precaution, manufacturers recommend pregnant women and people with health concerns: cardiovascular problems, diabetes and obesity in particular take medical advice before using a spa.

The ingestion of alcohol, medication and, of course, drugs is highly discouraged before using the spa. As is an intensive session of physical exercise.

Spa instructions :

The Spa’s water temperature should never exceed 38°C for adults. Beyond that, there is a risk of hyperthermia. Hyperthermia can also occur when the body temperature rises abruptly by between 3 and 6°C. This is why, in addition to hygienic benefits, we ask you to take a good hot shower before coming to the SPA. Do not ignore symptoms including dizziness, lethargy and fainting. If any of these phenomena occur, you must get out of the water immediately.

Consult your doctor about the sauna and spa before your visit, they are best placed to advise you if this type of activity is compatible with your state of health.

If you choose the option “WITH champagne bubbles”, we advise you to only consume your wine in the lounge area after the sauna and Jacuzzi, and only if you are not feeling tired or unwell.
